唐の茶 Tang & Thread · Since 2020

Pour a cup.
Let the day wait.

Leaves picked by hand on misty mountains, warmed over fire, and steeped for you. Seven teas for the small, quiet moments that make a day feel like your own.

Our Story

Tea was never just a drink.

Long ago, poets shared a bowl of tea and wrote down how it made them feel. Twelve hundred years later, we still feel it. That is the thread we follow, all the way to your cup.

Chapter I · Then

A bowl shared among friends.

A winter evening, twelve centuries ago. Water hums over the charcoal. One friend grinds the tea, another reads a new poem aloud, and nobody is in a hurry to leave. In the Tang dynasty, pouring tea was a way of saying: stay a little longer.

Chapter II · Now

A pause that belongs to you.

Your phone keeps buzzing. The inbox keeps filling. Then the kettle clicks. Ten minutes, a warm cup between your hands, rain on the window and nowhere else to be. That small pause is the whole point. The tea is simply how it begins.

Tea leaves unfurling in a glowing glass cup

Chapter III · Always

Looking after yourself, gently.

Our grandmothers never needed the word wellness. A few slices of ginger when the wind turned cold, red dates simmering when someone looked tired, something warm before bed. Our herbal teas carry that quiet kind of care into your everyday cup.

Who We Are

Six years in tea. One obsession.

Tang & Thread began with a tea merchant, not a marketing plan. Since 2020 our founder has worked inside the tea trade: walking the gardens at harvest, sitting with growers and blenders, and tasting cup after cup until the extraordinary ones became impossible to ignore.

Along the way came one frustration. The finest teas were hidden behind plain bags and price lists, and the stories that make tea beautiful were never told. So we set out to carry both across the ocean together: the leaf, and the twelve hundred years behind it.

閑 のどか The Art of Leisure

Seven bowls, one breeze.

One day a poet named Lu Tong was sent a gift of fresh tea. He brewed it and wrote down how each bowl felt. By the seventh, he said, a cool breeze was lifting him into the sky.

We made a tea for every bowl.

源 The Source

Above the clouds, in the Yunnan highlands.

Every morning, mist rolls over the highlands and the tea trees drink it in. Up here the leaves grow slowly, and slow leaves taste deeper: honey, malt, and a warmth that stays long after the last sip.
